GAME STOP opens its doors in Adelaide, where it will sell games for children and encourage more children to play.
The store will open in the CBD at 4pm on Wednesday, November 4, with staff from the local children’s centre expected to help customers fill their game baskets.
The new store will offer games for all ages and will be in a central location.
“This is a really exciting time for our community,” said Sarah MacLaren, managing director of GAME STOP, in a statement.
“We are looking forward to the new and exciting challenges ahead of us.”
The opening comes as the government begins to implement the Games for All Act, which will require all participating states to spend $1 billion to ensure all children in their communities have access to a game.
The Australian Games Council said the new store would also be a catalyst for the region to make progress in its development.
“With this store, we will be supporting our local children and families and will continue to provide them with opportunities to play and enjoy,” said AGC president Paul Tugendhat.
