Google’s game engine was named one of the best game engines in the world by Computerworld magazine, and was voted as the best in the history of the industry by its developers.
The company has also been named as one of Computerworld’s best 50 companies by TIME.
In a blog post on the company’s blog, the game engine team said it has been used in the creation of many games, including Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Far Cry 4.
It said the engine has been “devastatingly useful” for developers because it can be used to create games in a way that is not as simple as “build a bunch of assets”.
“The engine’s simplicity is also what gives it its own unique personality,” the blog post said.
The engine is based on the CryEngine 2, which has been around for years.
“We’ve taken a few of the great CryEngine games and created our own custom engine to do the work,” the post said, adding that this has allowed developers to make games with more of a visual fidelity that is “far more impressive than anything else”.
The post also stated that Google’s engine was built with a number of tools in mind, including procedural generation and depth mapping, and that it “can be used for everything from the very simple to the very complex”.
“Google has an incredible team, and their dedication to the industry is clear,” the statement continued.
“Their engine has also received a number, of awards for its outstanding design, and we believe that it’s a fantastic game engine for the industry.”
The company also said it would be releasing an updated version of the engine “soon”, but did not provide any further details.
Google’s latest engine has already been used for games like Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Destiny 2, as well as the upcoming Minecraft: Story Mode.
