There is no doubt that Alabama and Florida State are the top two teams in the nation in terms of total points scored this year.
Alabama and Georgia have a combined 38,000 points, which is nearly double the combined total of Alabama’s 34,000, and the Gators have 30,000.
But the SEC South is not as competitive as the SEC West, so the top teams in both conferences have to play each other in order to make the field.
In fact, the SEC East has five teams that have more than 25,000 total points.
So, what can we expect from these teams?
Both teams are ranked in the top 10, and both are among the top five in scoring.
The only difference is that Florida State is a few games ahead of Alabama in the rankings.
Florida State has four wins over the top-10 teams in this week’s ESPN.com College Football Power Index, including a thrilling 38-24 win over Alabama last week in Tallahassee.
However, Florida State also has one loss, a 35-28 loss to Georgia.
Georgia, which leads the conference with 36 wins, has lost four of the last five games against the Crimson Tide, including an overtime thriller in the SEC Championship Game last week.
Florida is coming off a 38-21 win over LSU in Oxford, which was the Bulldogs’ first victory over a ranked opponent since a 31-3 loss to LSU in Baton Rouge in 2014.
But Florida State’s offensive struggles last week at Alabama have left fans concerned.
Coach Jimbo Fisher, who won his fourth national title with the Seminoles last season, is under pressure to fix a stagnant offense.
He has been successful at getting his players to throw the ball more frequently and he also has been able to make them better by adding more playmakers to the offense.
But he is still trying to get his offense to play with more passion and more intensity than it has.
Fisher, though, has been criticized for his offensive system in the past.
He was accused of not teaching his players how to play the game effectively and for not having a cohesive, well-rounded offensive system.
The issue has been exacerbated by a poor performance by the Seminole offense in last week’s loss to Auburn.
Florida will try to avoid repeating that loss, which Florida State had not done since 2008.
Florida leads the SEC in scoring at 38.3 points per game and is second in the conference in scoring defense at 5.5 yards per play.
But Georgia is third in scoring offense at 29.2 points per contest and is sixth in the country in scoring and rushing defense at 6.7 yards per carry.
Both teams will look to run more than they did last week against Alabama, with the Gators having five players with double-digit rushing yards and the Seminols having six.
Georgia has a lot of talent on offense, but is still a very inexperienced team.
Georgia is also playing without star defensive tackle Da’Quan Bowers, who was lost for the season with a broken leg.
Bowers was a huge factor in the Seminola offensive success last week, catching nine passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
He also has a chance to get back on the field against Alabama because the Bulldogs have been missing their top two running backs, De’Vondre Campbell and Chris Godwin, who were both injured against Auburn.
Georgia also has five players returning from last year’s national title team, including wide receiver Corey Davis, who caught 16 passes for 229 yards and a touchdown against Alabama.
Davis was one of the top wide receivers in the NCAA this season and was a key member of the team that ran for nearly 1,000 yards against Auburn, but he will have to show up in a big way against Alabama again this season.
Georgia’s defensive woes have hurt the Bulldogs in the run game.
Georgia lost its top three defensive linemen, linebacker T.J. Watt and defensive end Jonathan Bullard, both of whom were suspended for the year.
Both of those players are key contributors in the defensive line, which helped to lead the Bulldogs to an incredible 34 tackles for loss, nine sacks and five forced fumbles against the Tide.
Florida and Georgia could be in for a tough battle this weekend.
The Bulldogs will be hoping to keep their current offense on the same page and try to put up big numbers, which should lead to the team scoring more points.
The Seminoles and Gators will look for their respective offenses to play together and to work together to generate the same kind of energy that they did against Auburn last week and that will help Georgia to run the table.
The game will also be interesting because of the way that each team is built.
The SEC East is very talented, and that is what makes the SEC and the conference so interesting.
But if Alabama and its offense can’t take advantage of the SEC’s strength of schedule and can’t find a way to make a big run at Florida
