The NBA has already announced the teams that will be in the playoffs and which teams will be able to compete for the title in the upcoming season.
The final decision on the number of teams is yet to be made.NBA teams are split into three groups based on the strength of their regular season performance: East, West and Central.
The East group includes the Warriors, Cavaliers, Raptors, Celtics and Rockets.
The West group includes teams like the Bucks, Hornets, Trail Blazers and Grizzlies.
The East is also the group with the largest number of playoff appearances and the strongest regular season record.
The Western Conference includes the Pacers, Mavericks, Clippers, Spurs, Thunder and Warriors.
Each team has a playoff record of 3-2.
The Clippers and Mavericks are both in the West and have a combined record of 34-36.
While the teams in the Eastern and Western groups have a very similar record, the NBA is now adding a playoff team for the first time in the history of the league.
NBA Playoffs in 2018-19 will be played on January 26-28, 2019, beginning with the conference finals on February 6 and ending with the Western Conference finals on March 2.
