GamesIndustry.biz – There are two kinds of games.
The first kind is games that you just love to play, and the second is games you need to play to learn the basics.
GamesIndusty.biz’s new ranking of the top 100 games of all time has two distinct categories: the first, a game you know, and a game that you’ll want to try again.
GamesBeat’s Matthew Lohr, who curated the rankings, told us he wanted to highlight games that are new, exciting, and accessible.
These are games that have a strong following, and are already popular.
Lohrs picks include: “Catch-22,” a first-person shooter, “Ace Combat,” an action adventure, and “Cities: Skylines.”
It also includes games from developers like “Camelot Unchained,” “The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited,” “Halo Wars 2,” and “Grand Theft Auto V.”
For more, read our review of “Carry on.”
Lohrer says the game lists are based on how popular they are, and that games are categorized by genre and what they cost.
“If the game has been around for a long time, it will have a lot more points in the same category,” he said.
“We do a weighted average of those points, and games that sell 10 million units in a year will have higher than 10 million.
That means if you’re a first time buyer, you’re more likely to get in on the top of the charts.”
GamesBeat has also been publishing its top 100 best-selling games of 2016.
