Nintendo Switch users are in for a treat as the Nintendo Switch 2 player mode will be available to play from your couch.
According to the company, the two-player mode is compatible with both the 2-Player Switch GamePad and the Joy-Con controllers.
Users will need to purchase the Nintendo 3DS game Passport Pass and download the Nintendo 2 Player Switch Passport app to use the mode.
Users can also purchase the pass to use on a TV using the TV Guide app, but the system only supports a single 2-person game at a time.
The 2- player mode was also announced for the Nintendo New 3DS system.
It’s unclear what specific Switch games will be compatible with the two player mode, but it sounds like games that have already been released for the system will be able to be played.
There are currently no plans to include games from the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3ds family of consoles in the two Player Switch game mode.
As far as how many games will work with the mode, it’s unclear.
Nintendo has confirmed that it plans to launch the Switch 2- Player Switch Gamepad and Joy-Cons with games for both the Nintendo and Switch console models.
There have been no updates from Nintendo about the Switch system’s software, so it’s hard to tell if any of the new games will launch for the Switch.
Nintendo has also said that it is not releasing new titles in the Switch’s two player game mode at the moment.
This could be a hint that the company plans to push out new Switch titles in its two player and 3D modes for the holiday season.
