The Pittsburgh Penguins and Chicago Blackhawks were set to face off in the playoffs on Sunday.
The game will air on NHL Network.
It is the first time the two teams have met in the regular season since they met in Chicago in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Penguins won that series 3-2, while the Blackhawks swept the series 4-2.
The NHL has made it clear that any game between the teams will be televised.
In addition to the Penguins-Blackhawks game, the Penguins are playing the Nashville Predators on Sunday, a game that will be broadcast on NHL GameCenter.
The Predators have won three straight games.
The Blackhawks are also playing the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday night.
It will be the first meeting between the two clubs since the Blackhawks defeated the Predators 5-4 in the Western Conference Final on Oct. 27.
The season opener will also be streamed live on NHL.com.
Both games will be available to stream on NHL TV at 10 p.m. ET.
